Champions Trophy 2025: ICC Releases Full List Of Umpires; Check Here

Richard Kettleborough and Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid will stand in the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 when Pakistan take on New Zealand in Karachi.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the list of match officials for the Champions Trophy 2025 scheduled to be held in Pakistan and United Arab Emirates, starting Feb. 19. It has been decided that 12 umpires will be officiating the matches.

Overall, six officials — Richard Kettleborough, who has already officiated 108 Men’s ODIs, Chris Gaffaney, Kumar Dharmasena, Richard Illingworth, Paul Reiffel and Rod Tucker — from the 2017 edition have been named for the upcoming Champions Trophy.

Kettleborough and Illingworth were part of the ODI World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia.

Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Ahsan Raza, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, Alex Wharf, and Joel Wilson are also part of the Champions Trophy 2025.

The panel of match referees comprises three prominent figures — David Boon, Ranjan Madugalle, and Andrew Pycroft. Boon had previously officiated the 2017 Champions Trophy final played between India and Pakistan.

Match Officials For Tournament Opener

According to the ICC, Richard Kettleborough and Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid will stand in the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 when Pakistan take on New Zealand in Karachi. Joel Wilson will be the TV umpire and Alex Wharf the fourth umpire. Andrew Pycroft will be the match referee.

Champions Trophy: Umpires For India vs Pakistan Match

While Paul Reiffel and Richard Illingworth will officiate the high-octane fixture between India and Pakistan on Feb. 23 (Sunday), Michael Gough will take up the role of a TV umpire (third umpire). Whereas, Adrian Holdstock will handle the duties of fourth umpire. The match referee for India vs Pakistan match will be David Boon.

Their collective expertise and experience will be invaluable in ensuring the tournament runs smoothly," Sean Easey, the ICC Senior Manager Umpires and Referees was quoted as saying by the ICC.

"We always strive to appoint the most deserving officials for such prestigious events, and we are confident that this group will do an outstanding job in both Pakistan and the UAE. We wish them all the best for a memorable tournament," Sean Easey added.
