India's daily Covid-19 infection rate continued to rise with over 46,000 new cases being reported over the past 24 hours.
As many as 46,759 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry's update as of 9 a.m. on Aug. 28.
Active case load in India has inched up to 3.59 lakh as daily recoveries, at around 31,374, have remained lower than fresh cases.

Covid-19 Curbs Extended
The government extended implementation of targeted and prompt actions for Covid-19 management till Sept. 30.
It has advised administrations of state and union territory governments to take suitable measures to avoid large gatherings during the coming festive season and impose localised restrictions to curb them if required.
