Axis Securities Report

Birla Corporation Ltd.'s operating performance was impacted by the extended and heavy monsoon as well as the shortage of sand in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar (important markets for the company).

The company reported revenue growth of 3% YoY, supported by better sales from the jute division.

The Ebitda/adjusted profit after tax de-grew by 30%/48% YoY owing to higher cost and flat realisation as Birla Corp had to channel its product outside its core market.

The capacity utilisation during the quarter was at 84%.

The volume for the quarter stood at 3.27 million tonnes per annum, flatYoY. The realisation during the quarter came in at Rs 4,878/tonne, flat YoY.
