Le Pen Says She Won’t Force Euro Exit on France After Election

None

(Bloomberg) -- Presidential candidate Marine Le Pen pledged not to force France out of the euro if voters reject her plans in a referendum.

Le Pen has promised to call a vote on leaving the single currency if she wins the presidential election which begins Sunday with a first-round ballot.

“I never regret telling the truth to the French people, telling them that at the end of this negotiation, they will be the ones who decide by referendum,” Le Pen said in an interview on France 2 television. “I'll never commit France to such an important choice without having your opinion, your accord. I'll do nothing without your consent.”

Le Pen has been leading for much of the campaign but has seen polls tighten in the final weeks and analysts say her plan to leave the euro is turning away potential voters.
