Danish Government, Opposition Are Neck-And-Neck in Norstat Poll

(Bloomberg) -- Denmark's center-right government and the Social Democrat-led opposition were neck-and-neck in a Norstat poll published by political website Altinget.

  • The government and its support parties had 49.3 percent support versus 49.2 percent for the opposition.
  • The opposition, which has led most polls since the 2015 election, lost its lead after the Social Democrats slipped to 24 percent from 27.2 percent in October.
  • Poll results would give Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen's bloc 88 seats in the 179-member parliament and 87 seats for the opposition. The remaining four seats are elected from the Faroe Islands and Greenland territories.
  • The biggest gainers in the past months have been the Social Liberal Party and nationalist parties the Danish People's Party and the New Right
