Irish imports from Great Britain fell again in April, continuing a trend since the U.K. left the European Union.
Goods imports from Great Britain, which does not include Northern Ireland, dropped 20% in April from a year ago to 920 million euros ($1.1 billion), as imports of food, live animals and chemicals dropped, Ireland's statistics office said in a statement on Tuesday.
Goods imports fell 39% in the first four months of the year compared to the period in 2020.
Exports to Great Britain from Ireland rose 42% from the year-earlier month. The largest increases were in chemicals and related products, machinery and transport equipment. Exports to Britain rose 7% in the first four months of the year compared to a year ago.
