(Bloomberg) -- A group of Congressional Democrats sued the Trump administration for failing to turn over records relating to a lease agreement for the glitzy Trump International Hotel, developed in the government-owned Old Post Office in Washington.
The suit by 17 Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives seeks immediate access to the records, which they initially sought after President Donald Trump refused to divest his interest in Trump Old Post Office LLC. He owns the hotel with his daughter Ivanka and sons Donald Jr. and Eric.
"President Trump's refusal to divest his ownership interest in a company that contracts with the federal government raises numerous issues requiring congressional oversight, including oversight of potential conflicts of interest," the Democrats said.
The complaint was filed Thursday against Timothy Horne, the acting administrator of the General Services Administration, which handles the lease. Those suing are on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
