(Bloomberg) -- Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has asked the country's embassy in Washington D.C. to investigate an incident of an Australian news crew being hit by police while they were reporting live on air, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

- Morrison has asked for advice on how to register Australia's concerns on the matter with local U.S. authorities, according to the report.
- Morrison had spoken to U.S. President Donald Trump by phone earlier but was unaware of the incident involving the Australian news crew at the time of the call.
