The Regional Meteorological Department (RMC) of Mumbai in its latest weather forecast has predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in many districts of Maharashtra for the next 2-3 days.
Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nasik, Pune, Ahmednagar are some of the districts that have been put on a yellow alert over the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds. While some districts like Nagpur, Akola, Amravati are placed on a red alert for heavy rainfall activity for September 22.
