The pre-monsoon repair work is essential to maintain the water quality standards of the district. Through these repairs, the civic body will check the status of panel servicing, transformer oil filtration, and other essential maintenance.
Following the conclusion of the repair work, the water pressure in the affected areas may remain lower than usual for a few hours.
This development comes amid an already challenging summer, with water bodies in Thane and surrounding areas under severe stress. In April, the TMC banned vehicle washing centres from operating until June 10. This action was taken in response to the ongoing water crisis in the district.
