Monsoon mayhem continues in Mumbai as the city grapples with relentless downpour for the fourth consecutive day. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for today in its latest seven-day bulletin, warning of more heavy showers ahead. In response, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has announced the closure of all schools and colleges for the day.

Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto not delivering across multiple locations in the city, as per NDTV Profit report. "Medicine deliveries also unavailable on quick commerce platforms in certain areas," it added.

Red Alert In Mumbai Today LIVE: BMC Issues High Tide Alert

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has issued high tide alert for today.

"Very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall very likely in city and suburbs. Occasional gusty winds reaching 45-55 kmph very likely," shared BMC on Tuesday.

  • High Tide: 0916 hrs – 3.75 mtr

  • Low Tide: 1516 hrs – 2.22 mtr

  • High Tide: 2053 hrs – 3.14 mtr

  • Low Tide: Next day (20.08.2025) 0311 hrs – 1.05 mtr

Mumbai Rains News LIVE: Vikhroli Receives Highest Downpour

Several parts of Mumbai received more than 200 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours, with Vikhroli in the eastern suburbs reporting the highest downpour at 255.5 mm, the the India Meteorological Department said on Tuesday.

In the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 am on Tuesday, the Santacruz observatory recorded 238.2 mm rainfall, while the Colaba observatory logged 110.4 mm rain, it said.

The Mumbai Railway Police Commissionerate has advised citizens to avoid venturing out on Tuesday due to heavy rainfall in the city.

"Due to heavy rainfall in Mumbai & surrounding areas, citizens are advised to step out only if necessary and check the latest railway updates before travelling. Avoid spreading rumours & rely only on official sources. For emergencies, dial 1512," shared Mumbai Railway Police Commissionerate on X.
