Mumbai BEST Bus Routes Revised: New AC Bus Services Coming — Check Details
Starting June 1, several routes will see AC buses replacing the existing non-AC ones, according to officials.
The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) is set to introduce air-conditioned (AC) buses on multiple routes across Mumbai. BEST is also going to revise several bus routes across South Mumbai and the eastern and western suburbs, from June 1.
The public transport agency, on Thursday, shared the details of the cancellation and alteration of routes.
Starting June 1, several routes will see AC buses replacing the existing non-AC ones, according to BEST officials.
Here’s a revised schedule for BEST AC Buses in Mumbai:
Mantralaya And Shivaji Nagar Terminus Route
According to BEST’s revised guidelines, the existing ‘Bus Route No. 8’ operating between Mantralaya and Shivaji Nagar Terminus is being converted into an air-conditioned bus service. This route will now be known as 'A-8'. The first bus from Mantralaya will now depart at 8:05 a.m., with the last service scheduled for 10:50 p.m.
Changes In Route 44, 56, 125 And 241
Route 44 will connect Kalachowki to Worli. Route 56, operating only on Sundays, will connect from Worli depot to Versova Yari Road. The route will operate with an AC bus on Sundays, while non-AC buses will run on weekdays.
AC buses on route 125 will cover Navy Nagar to Worli depot. Route 241 will now operate between Santacruz and Malvani, replacing its previous route from Mahim to Malvani depot. Route A-25, connecting Kurla Depot in the eastern suburbs with Backbay, will now be curtailed at Sion.
AC Bus On Malad Station (West) To Jankalyan Nagar
The official said that several more routes will see AC buses replacing the existing non-AC ones. This includes route 243 from Malad Station (West) to Jankalyan Nagar and route 343 from Goregaon Station (East) to Film City. Route 344 will connect between Goregaon Bus Station (East) and Sankalp Society/Nagari Nivara Prakalp-4.
Changes In Route 347, 452, 459, 602, 626
Route 347 will connect Goregaon Bus Station (East) to Gokuldham, while buses on route 452 will run from the same station to Mayur Nagar. Additionally, route 459 will operate between Mulund Railway Station and Malvani Depot. Route 602 will link Kanjur Marg to Hiranandani Powai, and route 626 will run from Malad Station (West) to Bhujale Talao.
New AC Bus Between Mantralaya And Thane Balkum
The new A-490 AC bus route will connect Mantralaya with Thane Balkum. Additionally, a new ring route bus, A-175, will run through Pratiksha Nagar, Antop Hill, Wadala, Khodadad Circle and Portuguese Church.
