The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane and other coastal districts of Maharashtra for the next few days. The alert has been issued in anticipation of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds reaching up to 40 kmph at isolated locations.

According to the IMD's latest five-day forecast released on May 5, Mumbai is likely to receive light to moderate thunder showers on Monday, followed by moderate rainfall and strong winds over the next two days. The weather conditions are expected to improve by Thursday, with light rain anticipated in the city.
