The GIFT Nifty was trading near 22,900 in early trade Thursday. Bharat Forge Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., and Waaree Energies Ltd. share prices may react. The GIFT Nifty was trading 0.10% or 23 points lower at 22,936.00 as of 6:30 a.m.

As of 3:26 p.m., the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 futures ended 0.12% and 0.18% lower, respectively. The Nasdaq 100 future ended 0.22% down.

US President Donald Trump's tariffs are much more targeted than people think, said Trinh Nguyen, a senior economist, emerging Asia at Natixis.

Given the role of China in global manufacturing, and the deteriorating relationship with US, supply chains are fracturing. China's deteriorating relationship with US provides an opportunities for other countries including India, Nguyen said in an interview.

Policy narrative needs to be driven much more aggressively in India, Nguyen said.
