The S&P BSE Sensex Index closed up 803.14 points or 1.26% at 64,718.56 while the NSE Nifty 50 Index was 217 points or 1.14% higher at 19,189.05.

  • Bharat Electronics has received defence and non-defence orders worth Rs 2,191 crore.

  • Orders include supply of long range guidance kit with warhead, airborne V/UHF jammer, battlefield surveillance radar systems and more.

  • With this, BEL has received orders worth Rs. 8,091 crore till now in the FY 2023-24.

The broader market indices were trading higher; the S&P BSE MidCap Index was up 0.50%, whereas S&P BSE SmallCap Index was 0.59% higher.

Seventeen out of the 20 sectors compiled by BSE advanced with S&P BSE Information Technology gaining the most. S&P BSE Telecommunication, S&P BSE Utilities, and S&P BSE Services declined.

The market breadth was skewed in the favour of the buyers. About 2,021 stocks rose, 1,315 declined, while 167 remained unchanged on the BSE.

  • Godawari Power and Ispat has 11.5 lakh shares worth Rs 59.8 crore change hands in a large trade at Rs 520 apiece.

The market breadth was skewed in the favour of the buyers. About 1,906 stocks rose, 626 declined, while 151 remained unchanged on the BSE.

At pre-open, the S&P BSE Sensex Index was up 150 points or 0.24% at 64,065.75 while the NSE Nifty 50 Index was 105 points or 0.55% higher at 19,076.85.
