Stock Market Today: Nifty Ends Lower But Holds 26,000 Level, Sensex Falls 400 Points

The NSE Nifty Midcap 150 and the NSE Smallcap 150 fell over 1% and underperformed the benchmark indices.

The NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex extended losses during the last leg of the trade to end near the day's low. HDFC Bank Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd., and Bajaj Finance shares were the biggest laggard. The Indian currency hit a record low against US Dollar, which also weighed on sentiment.
