Indian equity benchmarks registered gains for the consecutive week. The NSE Nifty 50 rose 0.7% and the BSE Sensex rose 0.54%. On Friday, benchmarks ended lower, tracking negative global cues. The Nifty 50 closed 0.62% lower at 24,176.15, down 150.50 points, while the Sensex ended 0.66% lower at 77,328.19, down 516.33 points.
The US and Iran exchanged fire in the Strait of Hormuz, with both sides saying the other initiated the attack. US President Donald Trump said the ceasefire remained in effect after the exchange. Trump said Iran would face further attacks if it does not agree to a nuclear deal.
Orient Electric reported a 28.9% year-on-year rise in fourth-quarter net profit to Rs 40.3 crore.
Revenue rose 10% to Rs 948.3 crore, while EBITDA increased 15.8% to Rs 77.4 crore. EBITDA margin stood at 8.2%, compared with 7.8% a year earlier.
SBI shares fell after the bank announced its fourth-quarter results.

Ola Electric said it received government approval for its EV scooter S1 X , according to an exchange filing.
Brent crude futures for July delivery rose 1.20% to $101.26 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate futures for June delivery gained 0.88% to $95.64 per barrel.
JSW Infrastructure said its arm, JSW Kolkata Container Terminal, received approval from the Principal Commissioner of Customs to start operations near Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, according to an exchange filing.
