Top 10 Most-Valued Firms Gain Rs 1.5 Lakh Crore In Market Cap Led By RIL And HDFC Bank
Hindustan Unilever was the only stock that saw a decline among the top 10 most valued companies.
The market capitalisation of the top 10 most-valued firms gained a cumulative Rs 1,49,975.53 crore on Tuesday, led by Reliance Industries Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd. and State Bank of India. ICICI Bank Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Infosys Ltd., Bharti Airtel Ltd., Bajaj Finance Ltd. and ITC Ltd. were the other stocks that gained value.
This comes as the Indian benchmark indices reported the best session since Jan. 2, on Tuesday, as market participants found temporary relief after US President Donald Trump delayed imposition of tariffs on Canada and Mexico for a month.
The Nifty 50 ended 378.20 points, or 1.62% higher at 23,739.25, and the Sensex ended 1,397.07 points, or 1.81% higher at 78,583.81.
RIL surged the most, as it gained Rs 53,182.23 crore to take its market cap to Rs 17.39 lakh crore. It was followed by HDFC Bank Ltd. that saw a gain of Rs 32,808.72 crore, settling at Rs 13.16 lakh crore.
State Bank of India saw an advance in its market cap, gaining Rs 16,287.43 crore, which brought its value up to Rs 6.95 lakh crore. Infosys Ltd. gained Rs 14,740.56 crore, pushing its market cap to Rs 7.88 lakh crore.
While, TCS saw a gain of Rs 13,893 crore in its market cap, bringing the total value to Rs 14.85 lakh crore. ICICI Bank Ltd. saw a slight advance in its market cap, gaining Rs 10,728.19 crore, bringing its total value to Rs 8.95 lakh crore.
Bharti Airtel Ltd. also posted positive growth, with its market cap increasing by Rs 5,183.21 crore to Rs 9.46 lakh crore. The telecom giant continued to see investor confidence and market momentum.
Bajaj Finance Ltd. gained Rs 3,067.13 crore to take its market cap to Rs 5.24 lakh crore.
Hindustan Unilever was the only stock that saw a decline among the top 10 most valued companies. HUL's market capitalisation declined Rs 916.34 crore to Rs 5.72 lakh crore. Despite the setback, HUL remained one of the top players in the market.
