PM Modi Backs NSE-Cyprus Stock Exchange Collaboration At GIFT City

Modi described GIFT City in Gujarat as a rising global financial centre and welcomed the partnership with Cyprus as part of broader efforts to strengthen India’s economic ties with Europe.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday endorsed the collaboration between the National Stock Exchange’s international arm at GIFT City and the Cyprus Stock Exchange during a business roundtable meeting in Nicosia.

Modi described GIFT City in Gujarat as a rising global financial centre and welcomed the partnership with Cyprus as part of broader efforts to strengthen India’s economic ties with Europe.

“Thank you @PMOIndia Shri @narendramodi ji for your interaction with business community yesterday at Cyprus and appreciating the collaboration between @nse_ix at Gift city Gujarat and Cyprus Stock Exchange,” NSE CEO Ashish Chauhan posted on social media platform X.

The Prime Minister also called for deeper cooperation in tourism and praised the formation of the India–Cyprus–Greece Business and Investment Council. He said the new council could serve as a mechanism to drive investment and commercial engagement across the three countries.
