Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged across India on Tuesday, even as global crude prices held steady after falling more than 2% in the previous session. Brent crude was around $92.16 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude traded near $85.02.
Global oil markets remain focused on the impact of expanded US sanctions on Iran and how Tehran could respond. The situation around the Strait of Hormuz is also keeping traders attentive, with any disruption to oil shipments potentially pushing crude prices further up.
In India, the government has said petrol and diesel supplies remain adequate and urged consumers not to panic-buy fuel amid the ongoing disruption in the Middle East. Retail fuel prices have remained unchanged despite the movement in global crude.
