Nifty Top Gainers, Losers On April 3: From TCS, HCLTech To Power Grid, Sun Pharma

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., Power Grid Corp. and Cipla Ltd. emerged as the top gainers on the NSE Nifty 50 on Thursday, while Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., HCL Technologies Ltd. and Tech Mahindra Ltd. were the worst performers.

The benchmark equity indices ended in the red on Thursday after US President Donald Trump imposed heavy tariffs on India and the world. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 82.25 points or 0.35% lower at 23,250.10 and the BSE Sensex closed 322.08 points or 0.42% down at 76,295.36.

Power Grid's stock jumped 4.6% to close at Rs 299.95 per share, while Sun Pharma ended 3.41% up at Rs 1,772 apiece. Cipla Ltd.'s shares surged 3.28% to Rs 1,500 at market close. UltraTech Cement Ltd. and Shriram Finance Ltd. were also among the top gainers.

TCS' shares closed 3.97% lower at Rs 3,403.30 apiece. HCLTech's stock ended 3.87% down at Rs 1,468.40 per share. Tech Mahindra, Infosys Ltd. and Oil & Natural Gas Corp. were also among the worst performers for the day.
