PC Jeweller Q1 Results

The recent rally comes after PC Jeweller reported a strong performance for the June quarter, with both the top line and operating profitability showing major improvement.

Consolidated net profit rose 37.2% year-on-year to Rs 222 crore in Q1, compared with Rs 162 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, according to the company's exchange filing.

Revenue from operations increased 21% year-on-year to Rs 877 crore from Rs 725 crore in the year-ago period, indicating continued momentum in its core jewellery business.

The company's operating performance was even stronger. Consolidated EBITDA surged 90% year-on-year to Rs 242 crore, compared with Rs 127 crore a year earlier.

PC Jeweller EBITDA Margin Expands

The sharp improvement in operating profit also drove a major expansion in margins.

PC Jeweller's consolidated EBITDA margin increased to 27.5% in the June quarter from 17.6% in the year-ago period — an expansion of nearly 10 percentage points.

The combination of double-digit revenue growth, strong profit growth and a sharp improvement in operating margins has emerged as a key factor supporting investor interest in the stock.

Nishchal Jain, Quant Researcher, Share.Market by PhonePe, said PC Jeweller is demonstrating a "powerful operational and financial turnaround", which has reignited market momentum.

Jain said the recent rally, marked by a roughly 35% gain over the week and continued movement around the Rs 13.8-Rs 14 levels, reflects a significant shift in investor sentiment. He pointed to the company's debt settlement agreements with consortium lenders, corporate restructuring and the approval of a 1:10 stock split as key structural catalysts, adding that these developments have enhanced retail liquidity and trading volumes.

He added that the stock's momentum has also been supported by positive quarterly earnings, operational stabilisation and revenue growth across domestic retail channels. According to Jain, the resolution of legal and regulatory hurdles that had previously weighed on balance sheet clarity has further broadened market confidence.

From a technical perspective, Jain said bullish signals emerged after the stock broke above key moving-average resistance levels, triggering strong institutional and retail accumulation during recent trading sessions.

What Should Investors Watch?

For investors tracking the sharp move in PC Jeweller shares, the key factors to watch will be whether the company's improved operating performance can be sustained in subsequent quarters, particularly revenue growth, EBITDA margins and profitability.

Jain said the share price outlook will hinge on sustained margin expansion and progress on debt reduction following the restructuring. While short-term consolidation or profit-booking remains possible after such a rapid multi-day surge, he said the medium-to-long-term trajectory remains constructive if the retailer continues to capture festive demand and execute its store expansion strategy.

Key monitoring triggers for investors, according to Jain, will include upcoming quarterly execution, working capital efficiency and management's ability to sustain profitability in a competitive jewellery retail landscape.

The sharp weekly rally also means investors will need to assess whether the recent gains are being supported by improving fundamentals or have moved ahead of the underlying earnings trajectory.
