The Indian rupee closed lower against the U.S. dollar on Friday, as fears of another rate hike strengthened after recent jobs market data.
The local currency depreciated 24 paise to close at 82.74 against the U.S. dollar on Friday. The domestic unit had closed at 82.50 against the greenback on Thursday.
Rupee had opened lower against the greenback as well—down 14 paise.
