The Indian rupee ended off day's low after depreciating to 79.82 against the U.S. dollar.
The currency opened 0.07% lower than its previous close at 79.22 against the greenback. Thereafter, it weakened as much as 0.84% to 79.82, before ending at 79.47 at the end of trade.
On Wednesday, the rupee had snapped its four-day winning streak.
The domestic currency had weakened to a record low beyond 80 twice last month.
