Humans Aren't Snapping Up NYC Luxury Condos, But Elephants Are

(Bloomberg) -- Humans may not be rushing to scoop up luxury condos in Manhattan, where buyers are inundated with choices. So maybe zoo animals will.

Giraffes and elephants are totally sold on Harry Macklowe's 200 E. 59th St. -- at least in an animated ad the developer released on Thursday touting the offerings at the tower. The animals, when they're not out window-shopping at Bloomingdale's or picnicking in Central Park, are seen painting on a wraparound terrace, bathing in a soaking tub and hosting a party near a fireplace with a rhino and a tiger.

Humans are nowhere to be found in the film showcasing the 35-story project, where a one-bedroom apartment starts at just over $2 million. The animals frolic over a soundtrack of Jimmy Durante singing “I'll Be Seeing You.”

The video tells “the story of the building -– how friendly, welcoming and forward-thinking it is as a residence,” Macklowe said in a statement.
