IDBI Capital Report

Credit growth slowed down in January month; it stood at 8.3% YoY as compared to 9.3% YoY in December. Slowdown in the Jan-22 was due to agriculture and personal credit.

Agriculture credit witnessed downtrend to 10.4% YoY (14.5% YoY in Dec-21). Industry portfolio growth showed downtick in January month at 6.4% YoY (7.6% YoY in Dec-21).

Overall, the credit growth slowed down due to slow growth in agriculture sector, housing finance companies, wholesale trade, public financial institutions.

Deposit growth saw fall of 80 basis points on fortnight basis and growth stood at 9.11% (Feb 11, 2022) versus 8.31% (Jan 28, 2022).
