Netflix has officially launched its gaming app 'Netflix Playground' for its youngest audience. The app is an interactive hub for children, which was unveiled on April 6, 2026, in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, the Philippines, and New Zealand. However, the rest of the world will be able to access the new platform on April 28.
Netflix Playground marks a significant expansion of the platform's 'kids and younger audience' strategy, progressing from just streaming or viewing to hands-on play. It is designed for children aged eight and under. Moreover, Netflix Playground will come under all memberships without any advertisements, extra payments, or in-app purchases.
How To Download
Users can download the app on their device (smartphone or tablet) and sign in to their Netflix accounts. This will give a vast library of games curated for children. Moreover, every game can be played instantly and can be played offline too.
Some of the engaging games, as mentioned by Netflix, are Peppa Pig, Sesame Street, Dr. Seuss's Horton, Storybots, Dr. Seuss's The Sneetches, Bad Dinosaurs, Dr. Seuss's Red Fish, Blue Fish, and Let's Color.
Netflix Playground will also renew Trash Truck for a third season, along with more episodes of The Creature Cases. Additionally, it will introduce a new musical series, 'Young MacDonald', which is based on the popular rhyme Old MacDonald.
The streaming giant has also confirmed new episodes of Ms Rachel and Sesame Street, ensuring children get trusted voices for their education right from their childhood.
John Derderian, the Netflix Vice President of Animation Series + Kids & Family TV, said, "We're building a world where kids can not only watch their favorite stories, they can step inside them and interact with their favorite characters."
He also mentioned, "We're creating a seamless destination for discovery, learning, and play. Whether it's reuniting with Hank and the Trash Truck crew for new adventures or making a smoothie with Peppa Pig, watching and playing on Netflix can be the fun and easiest part of every family's day."

As reported by Netflix, the streaming giant allows children to explore while parents guide their journey. The entire journey can be curated by following these steps:
- Separating children's profiles that show age-appropriate content
- Customizing maturity settings
- Shows or films whose titles can be blocked or filtered by parents
- Setting up locks for parents (grown-ups) profiles so children do not engage.
- Access to history and activity so parents can supervise accordingly.
