Mahua Moitra, a member of Parliament, from the All India Trinamool Congress Party alleged that she faced harrasment while seated in an IndiGo flight headed to Delhi to attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Defence, as per an 'X' post from her on Thursday.
The incident took place onboard IndiGo flight 6E 719 from Kolkata to Delhi. According to the video Moitra posted on her social media handle 'X', people could be heard on board the flight chanting slogans loudly such as 'Jai Shree Ram' and 'TMC Chor'.
"This is BJP culture. Why is anyone surprised? I ignored it and went to my meeting from the airport," Moitra said.

Moitra stated in her 'X' post that four to six men had boarded her flight and "leered" at her and went to the back of the plane. She then stated that the men waited for the flight to land, shouted these slogans at her and filmed the incident. She said this was harrasment and violated her safety and was not an expression of citizens' anger. Moitra further asked for the men to be identified, shamed and put on the no-fly list.
"This is harassment and violates my safety in an aircraft. No way that these louts can get away with this harassment inside an airplane @IndiGo6E find your crew report, name and shame them and put them on the no-fly list," Moitra wrote.
