The Iranian Embassy in India has said that the accounts set up to receive monetary contributions to help support those affected by the US-Iran war have now been deactivated. The development comes after people across India extended support to Iran, which is currently engaged in a conflict with the United States, through donations.
According to the information available, contributions were made in large numbers by individuals in different parts of the country. Residents of Kashmir, in particular, showed support not only by donating money but also by contributing gold, silver, brass, and copper utensils.

To facilitate financial assistance, the Iranian Embassy had earlier issued a QR code for receiving funds. However, it has now confirmed that this QR code and the associated accounts are no longer active.
Sharing the update in a post on X, the Iranian Embassy in India said, “In appreciation of the support and solidarity shown by the people of India, it is informed that the accounts earlier designated for receiving monetary contributions have now been deactivated. Accordingly, people are requested not to transfer any funds to these accounts or to any other accounts claiming to belong to the Embassy.”

Reports indicate that the collected funds, including cash and jewellery, are likely to be used within India itself. These are expected to be utilised mainly for purchasing medicines and other humanitarian supplies instead of being transferred abroad through diplomatic channels.
While diplomatic missions have certain protections, they are still subject to systems and regulations, particularly when it comes to transferring money across borders.
Accordig to another report, in India, such transactions generally come under the oversight of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), especially when they involve public donations or large sums of money.
