(Bloomberg) -- It's no secret this year's U.S. stock market has differed from last year's, one characterized by unprecedented calm and double-digit returns. But on top of that, the relative performance of stocks versus bonds has recently declined below the level reached during the depths of the February correction -- a sign of waning investor aggressiveness, according to Leuthold Weeden Capital Management's Jim Paulsen. Stress has surfaced in other asset classes, too, he notes, including corporate bonds and commodities, where investors are positioning themselves more defensively.
