Zomato’s shareholders have approved a proposal to rename the company as Eternal Ltd., according to a regulatory filing made by the firm on Sunday. The move, cleared through a special resolution, also includes amending the company’s Memorandum and Articles of Association to reflect the new identity.

Despite the change at the corporate level, Zomato’s popular food delivery brand and app will continue to operate under the existing name, the company clarified.

The decision to rebrand comes as part of Zomato’s broader strategy to reflect its growing portfolio of businesses. Under the new umbrella of Eternal, the company will house four key verticals — Zomato (food delivery), Blinkit (quick commerce), Hyperpure (B2B supplies), and its dining-out platform District.

The Story Of Zomato's Eternal Tech-Led Expansion

Explaining the rationale behind the rebranding, founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal had written to shareholders last month, noting that Blinkit’s rising contribution to the group’s overall business had prompted the need for a new corporate identity. “When we acquired Blinkit, we began using ‘Eternal’ internally to differentiate between the company and Zomato, the brand. We also agreed that we would publicly rename the company when a business other than Zomato became a major growth driver — and with Blinkit, that moment has arrived,” Goyal had said.

He also informed shareholders that once the name change takes effect, the company’s website will shift from zomato.com to eternal.com, and its stock ticker will also be updated accordingly.

The rebranding marks a significant step in Zomato’s journey as it evolves from a single-focus food delivery platform into a multi-business enterprise spanning quick commerce, dining out, and B2B supply chains.
