The Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch is expected in late February, and rising RAM costs have put the spotlight on the pricing of Samsung's upcoming flagship range. The latest news is a mixed bag, and confusing to say the least: the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may cost lower, while the base Galaxy S26 model may become more expensive. Indications of these price adjustments in the Galaxy S26 lineup have come from Swedish retailer data reported via WinFuture.

The key shift is that Samsung may eliminate the 128GB storage option across the S26 series, making 256GB the new starting point.

For the base Galaxy S26, there is a noticeable price increase. As per the report, in Sweden, the 256GB model is listed at 11,990 SEK, compared to 10,990 SEK for the 256GB Galaxy S25. This equates to about a EUR 100 increase when comparing equivalent storage, or closer to EUR 200 more than the previous 128GB model.

Surprisingly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may become more affordable. The 256GB version is reportedly priced at around 16,990 SEK in Sweden, down about 1,000 SEK (nearly EUR 100) from the Galaxy S25 Ultra's equivalent. The 512GB variant also sees a slight reduction, while the 1TB model stays the same.

Below are the expected prices for the Galaxy S26 series:

Galaxy S26: EUR 1,049 (256GB); EUR 1,259 (512GB).

Galaxy S26 Plus: EUR 1,299 (256GB); EUR 1,449 (512GB).

Galaxy S26 Ultra: EUR 1,399 (256GB); EUR 1,569 (512GB); EUR 1,809 (1TB).

Samsung may be lowering the Ultra's price to keep it competitive and appealing at the high end, possibly balancing costs elsewhere. Rumours indicate traditional pre-order free storage upgrades might be reduced or eliminated, at least for the Ultra.
