NMDC Ltd. has registered over 14% growth in iron ore production at 3.2 million tonnes in May, the Union Ministry of Steel said on Thursday.
The state-run miner had produced 2.8 million tonnes of iron ore a year ago
"Our consistent growth in production has not only made NMDC the fastest growing iron ore mining company in India but also the most consistent supplier to the domestic steel sector," NMDC Chairman and Managing Director Sumit Deb said. "We have strengthened our core by welcoming a fleet of new age technology and digital interventions to our business."
Hyderabad-based NMDC, under the Union Ministry of Steel, is India's largest iron ore producer and seller.
