Mizuho Securities Says Ex-Executives’ Bias Suit ‘Without Merit’

Mizuho says in statement it will “vehemently” fight lawsuit claiming it underpays non-white employees based in part on biased performance reviews.

  • “These claims are wholly without merit,” firm said in a statement
  • Mizuho “fosters a fair working environment for all employees and is disappointed that these individuals chose to file such baseless claims,” according to statement
  • Mizuho says it has numerous initiatives to support “diversity, inclusion and equality” as well as robust “anti-harassment, discrimination, and retaliation policies and procedures”
  • Lawsuit, filed April 30 in New York, is filed by four ex-executives
