The annual study by Kroll, an independent financial and risk advisory firm, evaluates celebrity brand value based on endorsement portfolios and their influence across social media platforms. The combined brand value of the country's top 25 celebrities stands at $2 billion in 2025, marking a 3.7% decline compared with last year, according to the report dated August 5.

Digital Endorsements Continue To Grow

Kroll noted that digital platforms are playing a larger role in celebrity endorsements than ever before. While digital collaborations previously accounted for nearly 40% to 60% of endorsement portfolios, they now contribute around 60% to 75% of brand partnerships for several leading celebrities.

The report suggests that brands are increasingly using digital platforms to expand audience reach, deliver personalised campaigns and improve engagement.

Celebrity brand value is now influenced by a mix of traditional endorsements, digital presence, social media engagement and emerging AI-driven opportunities, according to Umakanta Panigrahi, managing director, valuation advisory services at Kroll.

Established names like SRK, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli continue to enjoy strong brand equity, while digital-first personalities and younger stars are steadily gaining momentum in India's evolving endorsement landscape, according to Vinit Karnik, business head at GroupM ESP.
