(Bloomberg) -- JPMorgan Chase & Co. named an equity research veteran for a key private-banking role in Latin America.
Nur Cristiani, who spent more than a decade as JPMorgan's head of Mexico equity research, moved to the private-banking division in New York, according to a statement from the bank. She'll oversee investment strategies for Latin America, reporting to Billy Huzar.
Cristiani succeeds Franco Uccelli, who became the private bank's senior emerging-markets economist, according to the statement. Prior to JPMorgan, she had stints at Credit Suisse Group AG and BBVA Bancomer.
JPMorgan is the region's biggest private banker, with more than $180 billion in assets under advisory. The company's Latin America private bank expanded at a record pace in 2021, fueled by a rise in startups, low interest rates and political instability, as the region's wealthy shipped money abroad.
