Higher Investments To Aid Growth In Solar Glass Business: Gujarat Borosil

Gujarat Borosil Ltd. is looking to increase its foothold in the domestic solar glass producing market to compete with increasing dumping by Chinese players.

The flat glass maker has invested a lot in increasing capacity and in research and development to lower costs, its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Shreevar Kheruka told BloombergQuint in an interaction.

The company had recently announced a capital expenditure plan of Rs 235 crore to increase its solar glass manufacturing capacity. “With this investment, we hope to increase our turnonver by at least 1.4 times,” Kheruka said. The company's turnover from the solar glass business stood at Rs 200 crore in the last financial year.
