The government has invited applications for the post of the chairperson in the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India. The last date to apply for the post is April 6, 2025.
Current Chairperson Debasish Panda's term is set to expire. Panda joined as chairman of the IRDAI on March 14, 2022.
The applicants should preferably have at least 30 years of relevant work experience, should have worked as Secretary to Government of India or its equivalent level in Government of India or State Government or other institutions, and should have had a proven track record of leadership and authority in decision-making, stated the release. Applicants from private sector should have worked as CEO or equivalent of a large financial institution. Other eligibility criteria also include that the applicant should have a minimum of two years of residual service as on the date of vacancy.
Prior to joining IRDAI, Panda served as secretary, department of financial services, ministry of finance. Panda also served as Joint Secretary (Health & Family Welfare), Additional Secretary and as Special Secretary (Financial Services) in the Government of India.
