Godrej Industries buys Rs 103 crore Godrej Consumer shares from other promoters

Mumbai:

Godrej Consumer Products promoter Godrej Industries on Tuesday acquired 12 lakh shares of the FMCG major for Rs 103 crore from other promoter entities.

As per the block deal information available with the BSE, the shares of Godrej Consumer Products were purchased from nine promoters - Nadir Godrej, Navroze Godrej, Nyrika Vijay Crishna, Nisaba Adi Godrej, Pirojsha Adi Godrej, Freyan Crishna, Rishad Kaikhushru Naoroji, Raika Jamshyd Godrej and Tanya Arvind Dubash - at Rs 862 apiece, valuing an estimated Rs 103.44 crore.

As of June quarter, Godrej Industries held 7.36 crore shares of Godrej Consumer Products representing a 21.64 per cent stake in the company.

Earlier this month, Godrej Consumer Products had reported a 16.46 per cent increase in its net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013 at Rs 107.08 crore.

Shares in Godrej Consumer Products, on Tuesday, ended at Rs 894.85 apiece on the BSE, up 3.92 per cent from the previous close.
