Germans Favor Supporting Financially Troubled EU States: Chart

None

(Bloomberg) -- Almost half of Germans support government handouts to financially troubled European Union nations and nearly a third say they would be prepared to make a contribution, according to the DIW economic institute. In return, most expect the recipients to cut public spending and forge ahead with privatization, while only a minority would ask for cuts in social spending. They are less generous when it comes to non-EU nations that may be in trouble.
