The inclusion of women in the NDA follows a 2021 interim order by the Supreme Court, which opened the doors of the prestigious tri-services academy to female candidates for the first time in its history.
Among the standout achievers, Division Cadet Captain Shriti Daksh topped the Bachelor of Arts stream. Cadet Lucky Kumar led in Science, Battalion Cadet Captain Prince Kumar Singh Kushwaha excelled in Computer Science, and Cadet Captain Udayveer Singh Negi ranked highest in the B.Tech stream.
Former Army Chief and current Mizoram Governor V.K. Singh, who reviewed the parade, also praised the landmark event, stating:
“A proud day for India. A new chapter in the legacy of NDA — where courage knows no gender and leadership knows no bounds.”
Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Pralhad Joshi, echoed similar sentiments. “The journey of the women in uniform is a testament to the indomitable spirit of Indian women who continue to break barriers and inspire the nation,” he wrote on X.
He added: “With unwavering resolve and sheer determination, women cadets have made history today. This momentous step reflects the strength of Nari Shakti and reaffirms our commitment to inclusivity and empowerment in our armed forces. We salute their grit, courage, and unwavering willpower. Jai Hind!”
The graduation of these pioneering cadets marks a transformative moment for the Indian military, setting a precedent for future generations.
