Gammon India Wins Rs 1,708-Cr Project From Highways Regulator

New Delhi: Construction and engineering major Gammon India on Thursday said it has bagged a project worth Rs 1,708 crore from the Centre for widening of an important stretch of national highway 1A in Jammu & Kashmir under the government's flagship road building programme NHDP.

The company has secured a Rs 1,709.99-crore project from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for widening of the Udhampur to Ramban section of NH 1A in Jammu & Kashmir, Gammon India said in a filing to the BSE.

The contract has been awarded under Phase II of the National Highways Development Project (NHDP).

The scope of work involves "four-laning of Udhampur to Ramban section of NH 1 A from Km 67 to 130 to Km 151", the company said.

Gammon India, one of the largest contractor and developer of infrastructure projects in India, operates in four major areas - engineering, procurement and construction, construction business, infrastructure development business and international business.

Shares in Gammon India, on Thursday, ended nearly 1 per cent higher at Rs 11.31 apiece on the BSE.
