Dolby Cinema To Enter Indian Theatres In 2025
Dolby Cinema integrates picture and sound quality with their proprietary Dolby Vision video technology.

Dolby Cinema is set to be launched in India this year with six exhibitors opening the premium cinema offering.
City Pride in Pune, Allu Cineplex in Hyderabad, LA Cinema in Trichy, AMB Cinemas in Bengaluru, EVM Cinemas in Kochi and G Cineplex in Ulikkal will have the Dolby Cinema screens first, according to a press release from Dolby Laboratories on Monday.
Features
Dolby Cinema integrates picture and sound quality with their proprietary Dolby Vision video technology, which the release described as having notable brightness and "darker darks" in order to give the movie a more lifelike sense of depth. The release stated that this feature renders colours and details with notable exceptionality.
It also uses the company's well known Dolby Atmos sound system, which circulates sound in all four directions (including from above) around the audience to facilitate immersion.
It also utilises Dolby Cinema design, which attempts to optimise every seat in the auditorium for comfort with the objective to give a "best seat in the house" experience for all of them.
"Since the opening of the first Dolby Cinema in 2014, Dolby Cinema has grown rapidly, encompassing 35 exhibitor partners and 14 countries," Michael Archer, vice president of worldwide cinema sales at Dolby Laboratories, said. "This announcement underscores our commitment to advancing cinematic storytelling, working closely with filmmakers, studios, and exhibitors to deliver extraordinary entertainment experiences."
Hyderabad Colour Grading Facility
Dolby reported that it recently partnered with production company Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, to setup a Dolby Vision colour grading facility for films. The company reported that this was the country's first such facility.
