Bajaj Auto Ltd. has reported a marginal increase in its total vehicle sales in May 2022, as domestic dispatches surged over the year-ago period but exports fell.
The Chakan, Pune-based automaker sold 2,75,868 units in May, as against 2,71,862 in the year-ago period.
Total domestic sales, including commercial vehicles, rose 85% to 1,12,308 units last month while exports declined 22% to 1,63,560 units, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
Two-wheelers total sales rose 4% to 2,49,499 units. Commercial vehicle sales fell 16% year-on-year to 26,369 units.
Domestic sales of the two-wheelers grew 59% year-on-year to 96,102 units in May 2022. Two-wheeler exports declined 15% over the year-ago period to 1,53,397 units.
