Authorities Recover Guns Stolen From UPS Facility in Tennessee

(Bloomberg) -- Authorities have recovered “hundreds of guns” that were stolen on Sunday from a United Parcel Service Inc. distribution center in Memphis, Tennessee.

Two suspects were charged in the gun heist and one is in custody, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said in a statement Tuesday on Twitter. Roland Jackson, 24, of Chicago, remains at large and a reward of $5,000 is being offered to help catch him.

About 400 guns were hijacked from the UPS warehouse by two people using a U-Haul van, the ATF said on Monday. The arms were in several boxes and part of normal shipments that take place between manufacturers and sellers.

The theft raised concern because the weapons weren't registered to an owner, making them coveted by criminals, Michael Knight, an ATF spokesman, said on Monday. It was also an unusually large number of guns to be stolen in one robbery.
