Adani Green Energy Ltd. on Monday announced an internal leadership rejig, as the company would be helmed by a new chief executive officer with the start of the next fiscal.

Amit Singh, the incumbent CEO of the renewable energy arm of the Adani Group, will step down on Mar. 31, 2025 and take over another key role in the conglomerate. He would be succeeded by Ashish Khanna, the current CEO of the International Energy Business of the conglomerate.

Khanna would take over his new charge with effect from Apr. 1, 2025, according to a media release.

"In alignment with the Adani Group’s routine internal leadership transitions and planning, and to continue fostering sustainable growth and an ever-evolving leadership development consistent with the broader group and company objectives, a leadership transition has been undertaken," the release noted.

Singh, after stepping down as the Adani Green Energy CEO, will assume the role of CEO of International Energy Business of the Adani Group—the position currently held by Khanna.

Singh, an energy industry strategist, has extensive global experience and has worked in over a dozen countries. As Adani Group "now wishes to expand its business territory to international geographies", especially where growth paradigms are formidable such as the Middle East and North Africa region, Singh's leadership will "further strengthen the Group and align Group’s goals", the release stated.

Khanna, who will be his successor at Adani Green Energy, has over three decades of experience in areas of renewables, infrastructure, project management and contracts management in both India and abroad.

Notably, the renewable energy company's net profit rose 39% year-on-year to Rs 515 crore in the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2024, in comparison with Rs 371 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

Shares of Adani Green Energy on Tuesday closed 2.31% higher at Rs 1,078.08 apiece on the BSE, compared to a 0.57% decline in the benchmark Sensex.
