Adani Electricity Mumbai Tops Three National Power Utility Rankings

Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd., a subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd., has secured the top spot across three separate national rankings conducted by the Ministry of Power.

The company was ranked first in the newly introduced Distribution Utilities Ranking Report for the financial year 2023-24, which evaluates power distribution companies based on performance, customer service, and sustainability parameters.

In addition to the DUR Report, Adani Electricity also received the highest ranking in the 13th Integrated Rating Exercise by the Power Finance Corp. and an A+ grade in the Consumer Service Rating of DISCOMs by the Rural Electrification Corporation.

These assessments measure the operational performance and customer service quality of power distribution companies.

According to the DUR Report, Adani Electricity scored 93.5 overall, achieving 99.8 in performance excellence, 90.0 in consumer service, and 100% compliance in RPO and communicable system metering. The company also scored 91.7 in resource adequacy planning.

The DUR Report assesses utilities by incorporating criteria such as Renewable Purchase Obligations compliance, Communicable System Metering, Demand Side Response, and Resource Adequacy Planning. The ranking aims to promote transparency and accountability among distribution companies.

The rankings indicate a focus on operational reliability, renewable energy integration, and digital infrastructure improvements. The company has reported full deployment of communicable meters on all feeders and distribution transformers.

Adani Electricity supplies power to around 3 million consumers in Mumbai. The rankings suggest improvements in service reliability, billing transparency, and issue resolution for its customers. The DUR Report and other assessments also provide a comparative evaluation of power utilities across India, setting benchmarks for the sector.
