Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an export promotion mission with sectoral and ministerial targets in the budget on Saturday.

The mission will help facilitate easy access for export credit and MSMEs, along with other non tariff measures, and digital infrastructure for international orders, Sitharaman said. Trade and financing solutions proposed in the mission will complement the unified logistics platform, she said.

The mission will provide support to develop domestic manufacturing capacity and integration with global supply chains, she said. Participation groups will be formed for select products and supply chains under the mission, she added.

The mission presents a huge opportunity for industry 4.0, she said, adding that the domestic electronics manufacturing sector is expected to be among the beneficiaries.
