Ukraine's grid operator said it was limiting power supplies at Christmas amid a large-scale missile attack by Russia targeting the nation's energy infrastructure.

Ukrenergo, the nation's power grid operator, said the limits were a precautionary measure in a Telegram post. The range of missiles launched by Moscow is aimed at energy facilities, Ukraine's Energy Minister German Galushchenko indicated in a Facebook post.

“The transmission system operator is taking the necessary measures to limit consumption to minimise the negative consequences for the energy system,” Galushchenko said.
