(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump called on Republican candidate Roy Moore to concede losing the Alabama Senate seat to Democrat Doug Jones.
“I would certainly say he should” concede defeat, Trump told reporters Friday morning before boarding Marine One to fly to the FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Moore has refused to concede defeat, saying in a Wednesday web video that late-counted ballots could change the results.
Trump, who backed Moore, already called the Democrat to congratulate him on his victory in the Tuesday election. White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said Thursday that a Moore concession “should have already taken place.”
